For most, fat loss and weight loss are not different at all since both have the word “loss” in it and the two are always mentioned by health conscious people. However, those two are different and if you want better results with your diet then you need to understand the difference between the two.
If you are going to consult a dictionary then you would know that it is about the loss of fat, which is the process of losing body fat using a variety of means. It could be through diet, exercise or even liposuction. Yes, they are different, but the whole idea to all of them is to lose fat.
Fat is not bad at all as we need it to make energy. Burning fat produces energy and the whole idea of you having 0% fat is stupid since that would be dangerous. If we don’t have any fat in our body then the body would use the muscle to produce energy. This means that the body would get thinner as you are going to use the muscle to produce energy. A normal fat ratio should be around 12 to about 20 percent for men while around 15 to about 25 percent for women.
The common misconception that most people make is that they think that it is OK to lose weight as their most of their weight comes from fat. However, that is far from truth as the body is not just composed of fat. Aside from muscle, we have bones, skin and organs. But fat is dispensable if we want to lose weight. Our body can’t lose any of the other factors that made up the body. If we lose more than fat then that would not be healthy.
This might sound like it is just the same as fat loss, but it is entirely different since we would not only lose fat, but also some of the major components of the body. Let’s not forget that there are more to it than just fat. In general, anything that builds the body would make up most of the weight that we have. So, if we are talking about weight loss, you need to understand that you won’t only lose fat as you would also lose muscle mass, or bone mass, or organ weight, or skin weight, or a combination of all of these.
If you think about it then weight loss is not a bad process at all, but compared to fat loss, you might want to just lose fat than something overall. Weight is something that is overall and it won’t be healthy since losing muscle mass or bone mass isn’t something that you should go through. That is why; we need to have fats in our body, so the body won’t need to burn the muscle or loss portions of the bone.
