If you are wondering if you can really lose weight after failing a lot of times before. The answer would be yes, and to answer why you fail; you need to understand that you are doing it all wrong. Weight loss is not a race, as you can’t achieve it in a short amount of time. Those, who tend to lose weight in a matter of two weeks aren’t losing the fat at all. They just lose the water inside their body. That is why; most people tend to fail after losing the water, they think that they are not losing fat anymore.
If you are truly dedicated to weight loss then you would not expect to do a certain exercise routine and think that you would lose weight in such a short amount of time. You would need time and dedication to see real results. That is the real deal with weight loss. After you see results, you need to keep your health regiment, so it could last a lot longer. You need to take care of your body, by eating healthy food and exercising regularly.
You need to be smart if you want to lose weight and here are some ways that you can do:
Be specific – set a target goal to your weight loss. You need to keep it real or something that you can really achieve. Maybe, around two to three pounds for the first 1 to 2 months.
Measurable – don’t forget to keep a record of your progress.
Achievable– make sure that any goal you set is really achievable.
Realistic– Don’t try to lose weight in a short amount of time, you need to remember that you need to do this a lifetime.
Timely – Set a time to achieve your goal. You need to make it real or you would just fail to do it.
This method has been proven time and time again, so you won’t fail should you try it. You need to condition your mind first before doing it as the subject has a science in it too. After conditioning your mind, then comes the physical aspect.
Of course, you won’t be successful at losing weight if you won’t monitor your food consumption. Use a Weight Loss Journal to keep track of all the food that you ate. Though, this might not make you avoid sugar, but you would surely be surprise with the amount of calories you had. When you know what you have been eating then you can act upon it and make some adjustments. Now, you can do the elimination part, wherein you avoid unhealthy snacks. Take note that you don’t need to eliminate the fat in your food because there are two kinds of fats, healthy and unhealthy. Some fats are rather helpful in your body to be healthy. You need to keep the healthy fat and eliminate the unhealthy ones.
Also, you might want to exercise more, but that doesn’t mean that you need to go to the gym to exercise. If you are just starting out then just opt for a brisk walk, say around 20 to 30 minutes daily. You don’t need to go to the gym just to exercise as there are lots of ways to exercise without going to a gym.
Try to motivate yourself by challenging yourself. Perhaps, you can mention it to your friends, so that they would ask you about your progress often. Of course, you don’t want them to laugh at you, so this would be you motivation. Another way to get motivated is through reward system. You can have a cheat day, wherein you can eat any food that you want, but in a very small portion.
