Veggie Grill puts up $20 million so that they could build a healthy eating trend

Veggie Grill was able to raise around $20 million in stakeholders and new investors to fund its expansion for this year. They want to capitalize on the growing popularity of healthy dining options.

As of now, it is the fourth round of equity that funds for the vegetarian restaurant chain. One of its famous dishes is “All Hail Kale” salad. The restaurant company never did disclose its assessment.

The investment is a result of the growing interest in restaurants, putting an even greater emphasis on healthy food made with ingredients such as organic produce, antibiotic-free meats and vegetable protein. Chains in that group variety from national players such as Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc and Panera Bread Co to upstarts Lyfe Kitchen and True Food Kitchen.

Veggie Grill has plans of opening other restaurants in Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego and Seattle all through the first half of this year.

Last year, the company already got 16 restaurant chains and is planning to add another 16 restaurants for the next 18 months.
